Show Kaibab Industries, Inc., owners were on hand for the annual service awards banquet Monday evening where employees were honored and retired group, shown above, were commended for the largest retired work force ever at any previous company dinner. Kiabab Honors Workers For 709 Years Service At Annual Event BRVCE The annual Kaibab service awards dinner was held Monday evening at Rubys Inn where guests enjoyed dinner followed by a special awards program, recognizing employees for combined service of 709 years. Keynote speaker was Mickey Whiting, president and chairman of the board of Kaibab Industries, who expressed the company's corporate philosophy as "dedicated to excellence." He said rumors were abounding in the area that "Kaibab is not here for the long run." He said he wanted to "put those rumors to rest," and noted that he was addressing the largest group of retired employees he had ever seen at any annual recognition dinner. Jim Taylor, manager of manufacturing at the Panguitch facility served as master of ceremonies for the evening's festivities. He welcomed employees and Introduced special guests who Included Jim Whitney, president of Kaibab Forest Products; Don Olson, vice president of Manufacturing; Bill Herman, sales manager; Jim Koons, vice president of Kaibab Utah-Arizona operations and Bob Severson, wholesale sales. Receiving a gift certificate for 35 years of service to Kaibab was Henry Muir. Jim Taylor, Ammon Barker, and Kenneth Leslie each received a picnic table and barbecue for their 25 years of service. Panasonic Am FM radio cassette players were received for 20 years of served by MacRay Julander, Roger Lindford, Darwin Shakespeare, Raymond Brinkerhoff, DeRell Sudweeks, Lama' Barney, Larry H. Barney, Tony Yazzie, James H. Muir, Don E. Henrie, LaDean Gleave. Fifteen years service awards were given to Don C. Mangum, Lenore Heaton and Freda Talbot. Ten year awards were given to Douglas Coates, Lynn Allen and Gerald Stock and five year awards were presented to Daryl Veate Larry Crease, Lorenzo Manymules, Alfred Dodson, Stephen Clark, Arby Gleave, James Elmer, Kay Shakespeare, Kerry Haycock, Cliff Meyers, Kevin Shakespeare, Danny Brinkerhoff, John Floyd and Carl Farnsworth. Recognized as retired personnel were Ira Littlefield, Don Mangum, Don Henrie, J. L. Shak.'speare, Steele Henrie, Remo Johnson and Bryon Cotter. |
