Show Escalante Chit Chat Amber Griffin 826-4655 Mr. and Mrs. Chad Rappleye were in Salt Lake City to help celebrate her father, Gail Sorensen's birthday. Mr. and Mrs. LaVern Griffin are home after spending the winter in St. George. Mr.-and Mrs. Glen Imlay brought his mother, Mrs. Idella Imlay, home from Evanston, Wyo. where he spent the winter with them and Mr. and Mrs. Francis Imlay. Glen spent time working on his mothers home while Colleen visited her parents, Mr. and Mrs. D. H. Cowles. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Spencer; Orem and Mr, and Mrs. J. C. Spencer, Springville were here visiting their tnother, Mrs. Lillie Spencer. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Spencer are visiting Janet's parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. R. Griffin. Janet is the principal of thChorry Hill School in Orem and Jim' is coach at Provo High School, Mr. and'Mrs. Dick Lee came for the blessing of their grandson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Val Boyce. He was given the name Bradley Boyce, by his great grandfather, Wanless Alvey,. Both the Lee's and the Boyce's were guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Wanlpss Alvey. Mr. and Mrs. Brent Nielsen, Cedar City moved here to fill the vacancy created by the illness of Lee Williams, math teacher at Escalante High School. Mr. Nielsen is here on an internship from SUSC and will finish his student teaching next fall. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Venuti had their daughter blessed Sunday. She was given the name Libbey Venuti by her father. Mrs. Sandra Leibenguth, Mrs. Leslie Davis, and Mrs. Sherrie Woolsey were in St. George. Mr. and Mrs. Hal Shurtz attended a workshop for elementary school principals, in Provo. They also attended the mission report in Salt Lake City of Mr. and Mrs. Ruloiv Peterson. Elaine Lott visited her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. C. R. Griffin. She attends the Utah Technical College in Orem. Dan and Aaron Johnson are busy getting their service station and convenience store, the Travel Stop, ready to open. Besides a fall-service gas station, they'll have touffst and fishing supplies. Dunn Construction Company, Provo is ahead of schedule in getting the new town water system ready. The 10 inch pipes from the head house to the cemetery are already in and tested. They will finish the south half of Escalante before beginning on the north. Mr. and Mrs. Tony Jackson are parents of a baby boy. Visiting M"r! and Mrs. Robert Woolsey were Mr. and Mrs. Lee Banks of Cedar City. Visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs."filake Robinson were Mr. and Mrs. Jospeh AllenVtheir grandsons, Mr. and Mrs. Blake Allen, and Brent Allen, all of Orem. Brent has just returned from serving a mission in Mexico. Mr. and Mrs. Alpine Shirts, of Cedar City visited Mr. and Mrs. Morris Shirts. Mr. and Mrs. Gail Bailey are home after spending the winter in Mesa, Ariz. Mrs. Delia Christiansen and Mr. and Mrs. Gail Bailey spent Thursday in Cedar City on business. Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Griffin of Provo were visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. 'Lorenzo Griffin. Mrs. Janeal Chatterto'n of Logan spent the weekend with her mother' Mrs. IsabelSpencer. She also visited her brother and sisters, Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Spencer. Mr. and Mrs. Doyle Cottam, and Mr. and Mrs. Pratt Gates. |
