Show Escalante Chit Chat Fay Alvey Mait and Nelda Spencer got word Monday that son, Lael, had died in a Salt Lake City hospital. Deon AlVey- is still signing folks up for' heat assistance and there is a winterization program also in progress. Hilda Roundy Leah Griffin and Fay Alvey went to Panguitch for a five county meeting on the aging program. The Gene Griffin family, Erma Gates, Morris and Neta Shirts went to Panguitch for funeral services of Veda Cooper. Carol Joy Cooper, Texas was here. The Cub Scouts went to Tropic for the pine wood derby and won several honors. Geneal Shrutz went to Panguitch and joined son, Kay, and wife, Micky, for a trip to Pleasant Grove to visit Brenda and Mike Harper who have a baby girl. Edwin and Iona Alvey went to Kanab for the funeral services of his aunt, Annie Adams. Ruth Chiono got word of the, .death of Mildred Jepsen in Las Vegas. A baptismal service was held Thursday for Ricky Dodds and Travis Cottam. In Sacrament meeting, speakers were Val and Shellie Anderson. Imogene Lambert and Hilda Gardner came to look over the North Ward church which is to be made into a community center. An open house was held January 29 at the Que Procter home for Lori and Stewart Cowles who exchanged wedding vows January 27 in Salt Lake City. They will live in Murray where he has employment.
