Show New Pastor Assigned To Escalante Baptists ESCALANTE -Reverend Kevin B. Seager has been newly assigned to the First Baptist Church of Escalante as full time pastor. Assigned by the Northwest Baptist Mission, Reverend Seager comes to Escalante from the Berean Baptist Chruch in Ogden where he served as assistant pastor. He was born and reared in Ogden. Reverend Seager has been serving in Escalante on a part-time basis since May. He said he found the Escalante church to be stable and united after almost a year without a full-time pastor. His purpose in comeing to Escalante was for the edification of those who are Baptists or of other denominations. He said the Escalante First Baptist Church is an independent unit and reflects a movenient rather than a denomination. They are not protestant in nature and welcome people of all faiths and beliefs. He feels he and his wife, Linda, have been led to Escalante' and have a strong desire to be a help to the community at large. Sunday School is at 10 a.m. at the Escalante Town Hall; Morning services at 11 a.m. and evening services at 7 p.m. There will also be midweek bible study at the parsonage on Wednesday evenings with anyone interested invited to participate. "We're not using people to build up the ministry; we're using the ministry to build up people," he said. Reverend Seager attended Southwestern Baptist Bible College in Phoenix Ariz. and recieved a bachelor of science degree at Marantha Baptist Bible College at Watertown, Wis. where he majored in Bible and pastroal studies and minored in history. |
