Show 'Elephant Man9 Set By Snow College EPHRAIM - "The i Elephant Man," by Bernard Pomerance, will open at the Snow College Theatre with two performances April 30 and May 1. Snow College is a member of the Pioneer State Theatre Foundation, a partnership of minds from colleges across the state. Each season the. Foundation's Professional Advisory Comittee selects a play, a director and a host organization for the annual production. Sets, lighting and costumes are provided by the host and rehearsals are frequently held on that campus. Professorial guest artists combine with students from member universities to present a superb professional production that tours throughout the state. Pioneer Memorial Theatre is host for this season's production of The Elephant Man. Although it has been seen on television and the movie has run in the state this is the first live production of The Elephant Man to be seen in the west. The play will be presented as it was on Broadway without grotesque make-up and leaving distortion to the imagination of the audiance. Charlene Bletson is the director for the play. She is an associate professor in the theatre department at the University of Utah and has had extensive acting and directing exnerinece. Here from New York to play Dr. Treves is Eric Conger a multi-, talented man with ex-perfnee in many regional and New York theatres. John Geter, who just completed a long run of Gemini on Broadway will play John Merrick, the Elephant Man. Other featured per formers are local professionals: Dana Swenson, Coleman Drake Creel, Jr., and Jesse Bennett. University of Utah students, Patricia Dasko, Bill Lawrence, Brian Nettleton and Lisa Rohland complete the cast. Performances will begin at 8:00 p.m. each evening.
