Show PTA Offers New Parenting Class "Developing and Child's Positive Behavior" will be the theme of a parenting class to be sponsored by Garfield county PTA's on May 6. Brigham Young University professor of psyhcology and family devleopment Larry Jenkins will instruct the seminar which will run from 7 until 10:30 p.m. Fees are $15 for one person; $25 for two. Pre-registration for the class is required and interested individuals should call Debra McKee at 676-2289 or Lucille Proctor at 676-2294 by May 3. Four points will be developed during the seminar: (1) Types of adult-child relationships and their positive and negative results (2) Eliminating and measuring undesirable behavior; punishment as the most popualr method of discipline will be discussed and alternative ways of eliminating undesirable behavior will be demonstrated and practiced (3) How to develop positve bahavior, and (4) Principles of self-growth for children will be taught as Well as ways in which parents can encourage the natural grow th of their children. |
