Show Escalante Student Graduates ESCALANTE Jeanette Griffin, daughter of William R. Griffins, Escalante, graduated April 22 from Ricks College at Rex-burg, Idaho. Commencement week activities at the college included baccalaureate-commencement ceremonies at 9 a.m. in the Hart Gymnasium. Speaking to the graduates, faculty, administration and families and friends of the approximately 1500 graduate sophomores was Elder Thomas S. Monson, a member of the Council of Twelve Apostles of the Church of Jesus' Christ of Latter-day Saints. Activities began April 21 with the President's reception and the Alumni Banquet in the Man-waring Center; the Showtime Company Concert in the Hart Gymnasium; Nurses' pinning in the Snow Drama Theatre; and the Graduation Ball to cap off the evening. Presentation of diplomas took place at the seven convocations the afternoon of April 22 which included Arts and Letters, Agriculture, Natural Science, General Education, Social Science, Religious and Family Living and Industrial Science. |
