Show Escalante Chit Chat Fay Alvey Weldon Porter has his foot in a cast caused from a bad sprain. His daughter Lori spent several days in the Garfield Memorial Hospital recovering from injuries received on the school playground. Gurena Robinson is home and doing better. The other sick are about the same, no change. Dee and Elda Haws had daughter Lois here from Kaysville. Karen Munson went north to visit her folks and was involved in an automobile accident. The Vergean Porters and son, Klint, spent the long weekend in Arizona. Tom and Hazel Sanborn went to the New York area to visit his family members. They got home, repacked their suitcases and went to California. Nellie Bailey had Naomi Baldwin from Cedar City, Tom and Ann Reynolds from Central here. Grena and Mike Searle and family of Cedar City visited Twila Mclnelly. Marie and Kenneth Griffin of Provo visited Mina Porter. Wayne Banks went to Delta to be with his father who had surgery. Helen Shurtz and Lucille Cowles went to Casper, Wyoming to visit Dennis and Sara Cowles. Pug and Judy Ludgate of Wyoming are visiting Clella Woolsey and the Sheldon Steeds. Ivan and Nelda Willis had son Lowell from Orem, Elwood from Richfield and grandson Stewart Dean from San Diego. Rick Haws came from Las Vegas and brought a friend, Larry Utley. Also from Las Vegas were Raylene Alvey, Jillyn Haws and son Brandon, Ronald Mecham and son Kim, and their friends, Mario Cropper and his son and son-in-law. Warren Woolsey and boys of Cedar City visited at the Dale Marsh home. Danny and Sheri Meisenbach of California visited the Lane Listons. Jim and Janet Spencer and daughter Tamara of Orem visited Lillie Spencer and the Claron Griffins. Cara Mon and Tammy Smith of Bonner, Kansas are here, Cara Mon visited the Sox Spencers in Salt Gulch, and Tammy stayed with her mother Shirley Spencer. Martha Twitchell and Verda Griffin moved to St. George for the winter. Jo and Mack Barney of Cedar City visited Grace Barney and the Berlin Osborns. The Don Colemans had daughter, Joyce Kelly, and family here from Kanab. The Frank Collemans had Sharee and her friend home. The Norm Christensens and Jo and Gary Danklef from Cedar City Ray L. Alvey and family of Roy spent the weekend here at the Arnold Alvey home. They hunted with no success but Ray L. did have a very successful year with his horses. His race horse, McKay West started 15 times, won 12 first and three 2nds. In his cutter races he started 17 times and won 13, would have won 14 but he fell off and his team finished without him. He won first in Utah State, 2nd in the division and 3rd in the world championship. When one ceases to progress backward one will surely go, how can one preserve reverse? If you find out let me know. |
