LeFevre as Sundav School course 14-15 teacher, Dawn Asay replaced Ruth Raugh as cultural refinement leader in the Relief Society, James and Katy Thomas will replace James Munson as the Gospel Doctrine teacher in the Sunday School Michael Ferrin is the new alternate high councilman in the stake. Earl and Henry Jolley were released from the high council Mae Chynoweth is the new stake Relief Society president, with DelRae Pollock and Margaret R. Mecham as counselors and Florence Syrett as secretary. Tammy Feltner spent a few days in Page visiting with LouAnn LeFevre. Lisa and John Reese have purchased the George Jolley trailer home and have moved it to Cedar City. Most of the homes have their new water system connected. Visiting with the Alton Shakespears this past weekend were their children Colleen from St. George, Jeanette and Mary Jo from Orderville, and Alta Lou from Minneapolis and their families Jft. The Pete Alfanos have had their small grand daughter visiting with them this past week Cheryl and Dee will take her back home with them Roy and Scott Chlarson spent the past week with other scouters at Maple Dell Scout Camp Robert Jolley has returned home after spending the summer working in Alaska The David Meehams have a new granddaughter born to their daughter Garnet and husband in Cedar City. Margaret spent a few days over there getting acquainted with the new baby. Malen Mer ham made a trip to Cedar City to visit his sister who is in the hospital. Members of the Bryce Canyon Branch put on the program in church Crystal Mangum also played a piano solo The program was under the direction of Branch Pres. Lyle J. LeFevre. Mr. and Mrs. Norman Littlefield accompanied their daughter Marie and husband on a trip to Boulder and over through the Capitol Reef area. The Lady Lions will hold their first meeting for the year next Thursday A demonstration on pizza making will be the program. All Lady Lions are invited to attend at 7:30 p.m Mr and Mrs. Steve Mitchell from Texas spent a few days with the Owen Shakespears. The Roy Shakespears have a new grandson born to Mr. and Mrs Tom Shakespear. Cristy Shakespear and Marian Pollock attended the FHA leaderhsip camp at 'Mill Hollow and came back with some new ideas for their chapter. James Munson and Sherman Baugh attended the auction in Salina this past week one sold and the other bought sheep. Several of the Tropic people were in Richfield and Cedar City getting clothing for their children to start school in and some to attend the orthodontist The Silas Munsons had all of their children and grandchildren present for their Golden Wedding party. Also Irenes sisters Zona Hall, Flora LeFevre, Ina Adair and brother Bernard Johnson and all of Mr Munsons brothers, Ray, John, Albert and James, and his sister Delna Both families were fully represented, with their husbands and wives. They also had a very dear friend and her son from California come in and surprise them for the party. The Bryce Lions Club should be complimented upon the completion of the new tables for the scout house bowry Dorma Barton spent the weekend in Tropic Keven Bybee will have hit missionary testimonial in church Sept 10 The James Munsons have had their daughters Joann Topham and Elaine Brown and their families visiting with them for the past week. Ella Adair and Clara Johnson attended a county Senior Citizens council meeting It has been decided that the senior citizens of the Bryce Valley area will meet together the 3rd Thursday in each month in the scout house in Tropic. Special programs acd activities will be prepared for them Kuth Baugh attended a family reunion in Provo. Van and June Bushnll and their wives visited with Keela Mangum and Sta.i Mecham recently. |
