Show Panguitch Council Discusses Subjects The bill from Call Engineering was discussed the last Panguitch city council meeting. The firm sent a progress report indicating estimate date to begin construction on the water improvement by July 25. They stated the detail work on the headhouse and lines is completed. They will bring proposals for line locations by Feb. 25. Because the council is concerned and feel that construction should be pushed faster than the company anticipates they have made plans to try and have the well completed by July 1 to help supplement the water in the city. Money now available in the city will be used to complete this project. The council agreed to pay $6,ooo towards the construction now. The state proposes that the State of Utah settle the pending lawsuit by paying the owner of the Colonial Motel $5,000 and have the county and Panguitch city do the repairs needed. Repairs to be completed are asphalt paving, haul fill dirt in and fix the ditch bank. The council is waiting for Attorney Dave Mower's recom mendation before making a decision. City Manager Bruce Fullmer signed an agreement with KSUB-FM station to put in the FM station from cedar City. The station will furnish the transformer and the city will furnish the power and maintenance. A motion was made by Jim Hatch 111 at city council meetings be held on the first and third Tuesdays of each month. Anyone Interested on being scheduled for the agenda must contact the city office by 1 p.m. the day of the city council meeting In order to be schedu'ej. Mr. Fullmer brought a sample of asphalt slurry product that is being used in place of chip and seal on the roads. It is about the same cost as the chip and seal and is being used In St. George. This could also be used to patch holes in trusts. The council will look into this matter further. Dan LeFevre, Panguitch dog control officer, requested that the city contact a veterinarian and have him set a time to come and give rabies shots for pets. Dr- David Urie was contacted and will be In Pangdtch City In t front of the Sheriff's office March 8 from 2 to 4 p.m. Mr. Fullmer has quite a few applications for the housing and development rehabilitation program and feels the city council should start reviewing them as soon as possible. |
