Show Students at Escalante High School responded well to first aid class program which is now underway. Both seniors and sophomores at the ESCALANTE - Thirty seniors and sophomores of Escalante High School received an extensive first aid class taught by qualified personnel in the area. They learned the basics of cardiac pulmonary resuscitation; proper steps for choking; techniques to help patients with heart attacks and school are Involved and will complete prescribed basic course as an aid to their community, school. Students Get First Aid Class other life saving actions. The instructors were Kay Morrison, Piute County nurse, Roger Howells, Naomi and Hank Bolton, Jim Hannah and Deputy Sheriff Lloyd Meacham. The Instructors feel that by having some people In an. area as sparsely populated as the Escalante-Boulder area that knew what to do in case of emergency situations it would be very beneficial to the area. Prior to the seven hours of steady instruction by the specialists, Dr. Harry Cavanagh and Dr. Eugene Reams from the Garfield Memorial Clinics spent time in the class with the students preparing them for the extensive learning session. |
