Show Tropic Topics Ella Adair (7-8(48 David and Bill Pollock were recent visitors at the Larvin Pollock home. Progess on the new sewer system has been slow, but It looks like all will be well, and the sewer will be In operation by Christmas. Trenches are being dug, and the citizens are all anxiously awaiting the signal to hook up. The chorus has been busy working on their special program for Christmas. Everyone is Invited to attend on Sunday, Dec. 19. The Relief Society held their annual Christmas party. A delicious dinner was served, after which the ladies all received their new Relief Society Tropic cookbook, The Bryce Valley faculty had their annual Christmas party. John and Teressa Mecham have moved into their new trailer home, over on the Ott lot. Teressa went into Provo to get furnishings for it. The Earl Jolleys spent the week in St. George. The Clem Johnsons were in the Salt Lake City area visiting with their children. There were several Tropic people in St. George, Cedar City and Richfield on business. Lillus Francisco took her small daughter to St George to see the doctor and have her braces checked. Her mother accompanied her. Jack and Janet Pollock were in Boise visiting their daughter Jackine and family. They brought their granddaughter back with them to stay until Christmas. Her parents will come to Tropic for the holidays and visit with their parents. The Malen Littlefields were up to Salt Lake City during the week and visited with son Steve and family. Joe Ott was a visitor in town. Delpha and Joe Lee and four daughters from Pine, Ariz, and Delia Christiansen spent a few days this past week visiting with the Owen Shakespears. Lucy Shakes pear made a trip to Cedar City to the eye doctor. Ann Griffin spent a few days In Salt Lake City for a medical checkup and to visit with her daughters. The Lester Clarkes enjoyed a visit from their son Richard and family. He was enroute back to his base in California after attending school in Ohio. Kay Mar Willis, Mary Jean Roach, Herbert Baugh and Eva Pollock took some groups of children to the St George temple. Malcn Mecham, James Munson and Clem Johnson were also to the temple during th week. Speakers in sacrament meeting were Leland Haws, Ivan Willis and Dan Baird represented the high council as speakers; Crystal Mangum played a piano solo; Nell Wilson was sustained as Sunday School chorister in Douglas Ahlstroms place. Viva Mecham is in Orem staying with her niece. Verdella Nielsen had her nephew from Heber City, and his friend and Ronald McGee home for the weekend visit. Gary Bybee, Vance and Jeannene Ramsay, Aaron Bybee and Vard Shakes pear were home for the weekend from college. Bart Palmer visited with the Af'ton Pollocks. I received word from Carolyn Hill Dean, a former music teacher in our school that she has a new baby daughter and that she is now living in Tooele. She would like to send her Christmas greetings and best wishes to her friends in Tropic and Panguitch. The Vernal Shakespears made a trip over to the Nevada border to pick up pine nuts. The Lions Club will have their, annual Christmas party with their partners, next Thursday night Dinner will be at 7:00 p.m. The Bryce Valley faculty held their Christmas party in the school. We were happy to learn that Renon Ruesch received a second place rating In the state for her artwork that was sent to the state fair. Georgia Flannlgan visited with her mother, Minerva Dutton. Ruth Baugh enjoyed a visit from her mother this past week. June Shakespear Is home from the hospital with her crutches but able to "get up and go" |
