Show Snowmobile Route Study Available For Public An environmental assessment for the designation of snowmobile routes within Cedar Breaks National Monument is now available for public review and comment, announced monument superintendnent, Earle G. Curran. Federal regulations restrict the use of snowmobiles in areas of the national park system to specific routes designated in accordance with these regulations. The environmental assessment considers designation of specific portions, of the monument for such use and states effects upon visitor use, public safety, wildlife management, natural resource management and other' management policies. A notice of these proposed snowmobile routes has been published in the federal register. Comments on the assessment are invited and should be submitted to the superln tendent, Cedar Breaks National Monument, P.O. Box 749, Cedar City, Utah, 84720, by January 3, 1977. Copies of the assessment are available and can be reviewed at the Cedar Breaks National Monument office in the Federal Building, 82 N. 100 E., Cedar City, Utah, or at the office of the Superintendent, Zion National Park, Springdale, Utah, or at the National Park Service Regional Office, 655 Parfet Street, Denver, Colorado. |
