Total assessment for the stake's share of the $l-million building is $300,000 or 30-percent The remaining 70-percent is paid from general church funds. The structure will be located on the Reid Miller property between Second and Third West on Fifth South. The property was recently acquired by the church for the new building. In addition to a stake center, the structure will be used to house the Panguitch North and South wanls. Before -construction can . . . begin,. IS-percent .of. the. total, building cost, or $150,000, must be available by the stake. Stake President Raymond Whittaker, along with Norman Davis, finance director for the center, and a financial committee, announced individual ward assessments. In addition, a figure which must be paid by Feb. 1 has also been set. The amounts were determined by the number of members within each ward boundary. By figuring the first payment according to membership, all members in the eight wards will be expected to pay about the same by the Feb. 1 payment deadline, while Panguitch North and South ward members will have a longer period to pay their amounts before dedication. This is due to the fact that those ward members have a greater per-capita assessment due to their dual role in the building both as stake and ward members using the facilities. The stake has a membership of 2,341, with 1,174 residing in Panguitch North and South wards and 1,176 in the other six wards. A total of 726 families reside in the stake, with 379 in Panguitch North and South wards and 347 in the other six wards.
