Show Escalante Chit Chat Fay Alvey 626-2341 Hie weather has warmed up ennough that some folks are shedding clothing and even complaining about the heat, otherso of us are Just starting to thaw out. The kids are Impatiently waiting for the close of school, the adults gathering cattle, planting gardens and cleaning, so no one has time for mischief. Vergean and Caroline Porter went to Richfield to meet Haws Porter bringing Rol and Mlna home. Som eof the treatments Rol had In the hospital were rather drastic but he survived and is feeling better. Melba Brooks took Janis Gledhill and daughter north for medical appolnments and trough the Ray Griffins and Evadean Listen home. Ray Is feeling better than he has for years. Laura Baker Is In the Cedar City hospital recovering from eye surgery, just her right one.She looks good and seems ii fine spirits. Leah Griffin took Euzell Cot tarn to Cedar City to have the pins taken out of her feet, Marie Hall went along for the ride. The Stan Listens have a new grandson born to Bruce and Lois Hansen of Sandy. He weighed 8 lbs. and 9 oz. and was christened Scot K. The Listens had a visit from son, Brad of Moab and a friend, Sheri Dunn. Brad gave Sheri her first horseback ride but she and the horse parted company. Bun Young visited the Llstons and brought her firend, Shelly Adair. Rex and Eva Allen visited fsml.y members in the Riverton area and while north attended the funeral service of John Hamilton. Verda and Beaumont Griffin are home after spending a week in California with son, Devoe Scoville and family. They went there with Verna and Shannon Partridge who were going for the funeral services of Shannon's brother. Janalee Spencer took some younger family members to Richfield to the dentist. Evadean Listen accompanied them. Dick and Mary Lyman finished their vacation and came for their four boys so Gwen can take off her running shoes and catch her breath. Dicey Coombs has her brother, Oral Woolsey here for a visit His health is very poor so she Is caring for him for awhile. La Rue Spencer is home after trotting around Nevada and California. She visited son, Veernon at his home In California and Larry spent his weekends there. She visited a sister in Burbank and son, Danny and family In Mlsquite, Nev. Then had car trouble in Cedar City and stayed over night with relatives there. She attended the wedding of granddaughter, Christine Spencer who married Theron Jensen. Several car loads went to Panguitch for the funeral services of Wilford Roe. Nethella Woolsey accompanied me and visited Thirza Proctor. Forgot last week to mention that we visited with the Bruce Parkers in Salt Lake City. They look good and were so interested in all the people of Garfield County. It was rather ironic, the senior citizens held their meeting in one part of the Salt Palace and the undertakers held their convention across the hall. There was some excitement last week when the fire alarm at the Arden Taylor house went off in the early evening. Half the town rushed out there and found that Mae Vonn had burned their dinner up and of course smoked things considerably. She really appreciates the help of everyone who came to her rescue. In sacrament meeting Sunday the program was presented by the Primary assocaition, then Bp. Marsh asked Elaine and Frank Rowley to talk briefly as they are leaving our village. Why should you worry about what people think of you? You may be shocked to find out they very seldom do. |
