Show Tropic Receives $22,000 For Sewer System Facility TROPIC Approval of a $22,000 grant to help install a sewer system in Garfield County was announced today by Governor Calvin L. Rampton, Utah member, and Stan Womer, federal cochairman of the Four Corners Regional Commissiion. The funds from the federal state agency will go to the Town of Tropic to help install a sewage collection system and waste treatment facility. Local officials say the sewage project is essential to alleviate a health hazard from subsurface water overflowing septic tanks in the area, and to provide services to anticipated population resulting from a proposed power plant. The Environmental Protection Agency will make a $330,375 grant and the Town of Tropic will provide $88,125 from other sources to complete the $440,500 total cost.
