Show I Myrtle Allen Myrtle Porter Allen, 82, Provo, died Dec. 16 In an Orem rest home of causes Incident to age. She was born June 13, 1892, Escalante, to Andrew Richard and Susannah Cathrine Heaps Porter. She was married to Daniel Berry Allen, June 28, 1912, Escalante; later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She attended school in Escalante. Following their marriage, the couple made their home In Teasdale. They later moved to Loa and moved to Provo in 1929 where they have since resided. She was an active member of the LDS Church and was a member of the Provo 15th Ward. She was an active member In the YMMIA In Escalante and worked in the Relief Society In Teasdale and Provo. She was the first financial secretary in the Senior Citizens organization In Provo. For the past two years she has resided In an Orem rest home. Survivors: husband, Provo; son, daughters, Daniel Burns Allen, Spring City; Mrs. Marion (Burnetta) Skinner, Mrs. Sheldon (Alberta) Hirst, MRS. MaxineBell, Mrs. Phyllis Hone, all Provo; Mrs. Harvel (Mildred) Bennett, American Fork; Mrs. Bill (LaVern) Hopkinson, Las Vegas; 24 grandchildren; 52 greatgrandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; brothers, sister, Orrin, Springville; Emery, Orem; Mrs. Golden (Genevieve) Shugart, Payson. Funeral services will be Friday at 11 a.m. In the Berg Drawing Room chaepl, 185 East Center, Provo. Friends may call at the mortuary Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday prior to services. Interment will be in the Provo City Cemetery. |
