Show Tropic Topics Ella Adair Correspond fut We have had our share of patients In the hospital from Tropic this past week. Among those who were there for treatment were Arvilla Shakespear, Thelma Bybee, Hope Wlntch and Lucy Shakespear. All are home recovering. The Ira Uttleflelds had their daughter Linda Grlndler and family as visitors recently. . The Relief Society had Its annual Christmas program and dinner Tuesday afternoon. The Elementary School presented its annual Christmas program Thursday night. Following the program the faculty of both schools enjoyed a delicious turkey dinner with all the trimmings, In the home ec room. Santa also made his appearance and brought a gift to those who were present. The Bryce Valley FHA held their annual Christmas party for their mothers Wednesday night Lydia Pollock was chairman for the party. The Alton Shakes pears are visiting with their daughter, Alta Lou and family in Minneapolis, Minn. Several of the Tropic people were In Richfield and Cedar City during the week getting their last minute shopping done. Among those going out of town were Malen, Angeline, Viva Koye and Debby Mecham the Carl Syretts and Claudia Niemann. Paul Mangum was in Las Vegas on business during the week. Viva, Malen and Angeline Mecham visited the S tarns Mechams in Escalante. Wesley Clarke and PhyUis Stewart were in Price this past week. It seems good to have the college students home again. We didn't realize how many were gone from Tropic until they returned for the quarter break. Helen Manuel, Canada, has been a guest at the Robert Ott home this week. Mr. and Mrs. Val Shakespear were weekend visitors at the Vernal Shakespear home. The bishop announced that tithing settlement will start Dec. 22 at 3 p.m. Also on Dec. 29 from 3 to 6 p.m. and 6:30 to 9 p.m. Speakers in sacrament meeting Sunday were Wesley Clarke and L. Dee Shakespear. A special vocal solo was sung by La Dora Baugh and a musical number was given by the singing mothers chorus. |
