Show BPW Holds Spring Conference The Spring Conference of the Southern District of Business and Professional Women's Clubs was held at the Flying M last Sunday. Dolly Henrie, District Director, presided. Steak dinners were served to 64 members and guests; a record attendance and clubs from Beaver. Cedar City. Mil-ford, Pangultch, Richfield and Zion were present. The banquet tables were beautifully decorated In the spring theme and bowls of daffodils were featured at each table. Date Books were given for table favors Ingra Richards. District Vice Director, presided at the election meeting at which time Mae Atkins was elected as District Director for the coming club year and Alta Palce as Vice Director: both are from the Beaver Club. Letlcla Henderson entertained the group with two songs, "It's A Grand Night For Singing" and "The Best Things In Life Are Free"; she was accompanied by Elaine Riggs. Tslks were given by the two Young Career Women with Miss Phyllis Davis of Cedar City being chosen to represent the district at the State convention In May. A new club has been organized in Richfield and they were welcomed into the Federation and District. Following dinner reports were given pertaining to the activities of BPW. The program was under the direction of Ingra and the theme was "Unite-Share-Act ... All Systems Go!" Members of the Panguitch club participated and a trio consisting of Margie Prince. Letlcla Henderson and Gall Duckett filled in with clever BPW songs. The entire program was written snd directed by Ingra and was simply wonderful. There were six state officers present and the Utah Federation president DeLone Peterson Installed the incoming officers as the climax to a very successful conference. |
