Show Russell Bulkley Wins Essay Scholarship Russell B Bulkley, a senior at Pangultch High School, has been selected to receive the 4th annual Conservation Scholarship Award of the Bryce Canyon Natural History Association The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Association, Flora Bardwell of 1-ogan, made the announcement. The award, valued at $1,200 over a four year period, goes to an outstanding Garfield or Kane County high school senior who plans college study in a field of conservation Russell is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Otho Bulkley. He plans to study Wildlife Management at Utah State University. Russell says. "I chose this field because I have always had a great interest in wildlife. I have lived in an area where I have had the opportunity to learn and respect the problems of wildlife and would like to work and help with the management of these problems. More and more emphasis Is being placed on the Importance of caring for our natural resources Wildlife and forest are a great part of these resource." The scholarship Is awarded by the Natural History Association of Bryce Canyon National Park In cooperation with the National Park Service and the U.S. Department of the Interior. The Association Is a non-profit corporation organized to assist In the educational, interpretive and scientific programs of the park and the National Park Service. |
