Show Fun Nights Pep Up Bowlers' Week At Local Lanes FUN NIGHT Fourteen couples, some from Circleville, some from Bryce Airport, some from Panguitch, bowled for the sheer joy of bowling on Friday night. Moonlight was the style and having the top score was the team of Nita North and Scott Robinson with a grand total of 823; second high was Pat Hancock and Harry North with 778 and third high was Fay Lay and Ernie Wright with 775. Receiving consolation was Pat Lynley and Ron Burton. A new game will be tried this week, the 17th HI-LO which might get you to wondering what it is all about. (We will shy from another Bowl your Average night a few weeks ago at 1 a.m. four were still going strong Margie Prince, Phyllis Mclnelly, Dolly Henrie and Jack Soper and after 11 games they called it a draw!) Eighteen couples are the very MOST these games will accommodate so sign up early. Several couples arrived late lastL week and .were unable to get into the fun, so remember the time is 8:30. These sessions are for FUN, to heck with high scores, gutter balls are even okay if you throw it with grace and dignity, so many are bowling now you might not get the same partner for a year, so what? See you Friday? LADIES SUMMER LEAGUE At the end of the first half of the Ladies Summer League, Panguitch Bowl team leads with 30 wins and 10 losses; Cameron Tours is in second place with 27 wins and 13 losses, followed by Al's TV Repair, Panguitch Drug, Flying M and Tebbs Jewelry. The week of June 16th will see the second portion of play started with team positions starting over. At tho end of the second half of the League the two top teams will have a play off for 1st and 2nd place. Individual members averages and games will not change, only team positions. High individual games were rolled by Ada LeFevre, 176; Nita North, 175; Marva Wood-ard, 174. Marva also had three game high of 435;; Nita was second with 428 and Ada third with 425. We would like to welcome two new regular members, Marva Woodard on the Cameron Tours team and Liz Yard- ley on the Panguitch Bowl team. Two good bowlers and lots of fun to play with. A meeting of the executive board was held June 8th and the minutes have been posted on the bulletin board at the Alley, all members please read. Dolly Henrie League Secretary MEN'S SUMMER LEAGUE The night of June 8 did not cause any drastic changes in the league. Team No. 5, formerly sponsored as Kaibab-Crofts, moved back into first place by downing Yardley's Insurance 2M to 1. The game standing came about as the two teams tied at 641 each in the opening game. Bill's Texaco took No. 3 position by dropping Bern's Blacks 3 to 1, and Conoco and Kaibab split down the middle with two each to create a three way tie for 4th place. High game king for the evening was Ken Hubbard with a 217. while Pat Dix had a 202, and Kent Mclnelly 190. High threo game total was rolled by Kert Mclnelly with a 543 series, followed by Ken Hubbard at 537, Pat Dix 527 and Melvln Miller 503. Next week the league features, in addition to the regular three games, a "Turkey Shoot." High handicap game wins a big turkey as an additional incentive and high "scratch" game also gets tho "Bird." |
