Tho Garland Town Board, Commercial Club and Church have Joined hands in n movo to assist the unfortunate people of Sun Francisco. Wednesday and Thursday ot this week were set apart as days to receive anything to aid the victims vic-tims of the terrible disaster A host of the good sisters of the Relief Re-lief Society gathered at the home of Mrs. Jos. Jensen Thursday aud with ma chines, scissors, thread and needles converted con-verted about 75 yards of cloth Into children's chil-dren's clothing to be sent to the unfor-tuuato unfor-tuuato victims of the terriblo California disaster. Besides this a considerable amount of ready-made clothing has Ik'cii subscribed consisting of wrappers, blous eft and various other wearing apparel. A good hearted bachelor (name withheld) with-held) gavo a big bundle of men's cloth lug for tho suffers. The addition of n few buttons aud some stitches by the good sisters made thu package very ao ceptablu and will give comfort to some of thu men folk v ho are In need. Wlxom were appointed a committc to receive tin offerings at tho Garland Hall Wednesday and I'burrdav.
