Show From present indications one of the principal matters for legislation in this country, at the next session of Congress, will be amending the naturalization natur-alization laws. As the law now stands, hordes of the most lawless elements of Europe invade our shores in swarms, fill our workshops, drive off our own citizens from labor, incite trouble, are guilty of some of the most cruel outrages, such as robberies and murders, mur-ders, and are a standing menace to the continuation of peace and good order. ? Let the ports of our country be closed against the rascals. Let them , remain in their own countries to carry on their high-handed assassinations among themselves. The sooner the world is rid of such characters, the sooner peace will reign supreme. |
