Show ROUNDING UP THE TRAMPS. - Marshal Brown Succeeds in Getting Sixteen to Leave Town. Marshal Brown and Officer Wilkins did a fine thing for this city on Wednesday Wed-nesday night last when they rounded up sixteen Uamps who were camped at the depot. The,fficers on going down there tound Xher bad iwsv o. very nice houses with the sawed ties laying by the side of the track, and in one of them, were seven tramps laying down and "'snoozing" comfortably around a stove, which they had borrowed (?from a U. P. work train. The other place had nine tramps in it, with a fire in front of the tie house, with about half a ton of coal on it. Marshal Brown ordered them to leave the city, saying "I'll , have every one of you on the streets working if it takes every man in Provo to guard you." Thursday morning not a tramp was to be found, and the marshal sent a gang of men and had the tie houses torn down. |
