Show -NEWS- Spanish Fork B8 • WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 24, 2008 Covering what matters most SFJH Courtesy photos QUARTERS FOR CHRISTMAS: The students at Spanish Fork Jr. High school were filled with the spirit of giving and competition this year as they donated money for Quarters for Christmas. A competition was established between 7th, 8th, and 9th grade classes. Pennies could be put into another class "pot" that counted as negative points for the class. Any amount of money, above a penny, counted as a point for the class. The Sth grade class led most of the week, but in a last day run, the 9th grade came out ahead and won the competition. Students donated over $1,400 that will help a family here in our own community. REFLECTIONS: Spanish Fork Jr. High School had great success this year in the Reflections contest. The contest was sponsored by the PTA and the theme was "Wow!" Entries had to effectively demonstrate this sentiment through a variety of fine arts methods which included literature, music, theatre, 3-dimensional, photography, dance, and visual arts. Almost twice as many students entered the contest this year, but the PTA was still able to award every entrant a cash prize. The PTA is so proud of the students and their work in the Fine Arts area. Congratulations to all the winning students. Pictured are all students at Spanish Fork Jr. High School. Every student who submitted entries in this year's Reflections contest were winners.
