Show -NEWS- Spanish Fork Covering what matters most WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 24, 2008 • A5 Lake Shore 2nd Ward Scarecrow Contest The Spanish Fork Area Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring its fourth annual 2008 Halloween Scarecrow Contest. The Scarecrow contest will be to enter Scarecrows that will be displayed in the City Flower Beds along Main Street in Spanish Fork for the month of October. This fun festival will dress up the town, and get it ready for the Harvest and Halloween season! There will be monetary prizes (Over $500.00 in Chamber Gift Certificates to be used in local area businesses) in several categories for the entered Scarecrows. President Beverly Shepherd presided. Obituary Daniel Andrew Poulsen Daniel Andrew Poulsen peacefully left his family Friday, Sept. 19, 2008 after 70 wonderful years. Born on Sept. 7, 1938. in Spanish Fork, he was the youngest of three children and the only son of Andrew and Jennie Stark Poulsen. Serving honorably in the army, Danny loved to tell stories of all the places it took him. He found great pride in the trucking industry, and was an owner/operator of his own truck. Then started D&D Trucking with realizing another of his his only son. dreams, he opened Dan's He is survived by CaroPlace Cafe, and in 1996 line, his wife of 45 years. He and Caroline are the loving parents to Andrea (Phil) Allen, Angela (Vern) Jackson and Daniel Clay (Lorelle) poulsen. He was papa to seven wonderful grandchildren, son-in-law to Jackie Belders and brother to Elizabeth Brockbank. He loved to spend time outdoors camping, hunting, fishing the river behind his parents home in Lake Shore, singing and telling stories to the grandkids. We will all miss his cheerful greeting of "And how are you doing this fine morning?" A viewing will be held Wednesday morning at the LDS Stake Center from 9:45-10:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment will be at the Spanish Fork City Cemetery.
