Show irest Tti A4 • WEDNESDAY, MARCH 12, 2008 Covering what matters most Missionary Obituary 1st Birthday Kelvin Remund Lee Huff Ellie Brooke Houghton Lee Huff, 87, our beloved father, passed from this life to the next on March 4, 2008, from causes incident to age, ten years to the day that his cherished wife departed. Lee was born August 6, 1920, to Sarah Ann Carter and Archer Huff and grew up on the Lake Shore family farm with his eight brothers and sisters. After attending the local schools, he proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. He is a 57-year member of the American Legion and VFW. ' • Lee and his sweetheart, Mildred Page, were married on February 28, 1949, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They shared 49 wonderful years before her passing in 1998. Afterworkingasacarpenter at Geneva Steel for 11 years, Lee began a new business in Spanish Fork, Duke's Lanes, in 1959. He spent 29 pleasurable years as manager and proprietor and bowled in league competition. The highlight was representing the state of Utah in the 1966 World All-Star BPAA Tournament. Numerous individuals in the community participated in league and bowling, resulting in lifelong friendships. As a member of the Spanish Fork 3rd Ward, Lee held church callings as welfare clerk, executive secretary, assistant High Priest group leader, and ordinance worker in the Provo Temple. Mildred and Lee raised' three daughters in Spanish Fork: Valerie, Shauna, and Calene. Their descendants extend to nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Valerie is married to Lloyd C. Cook. They and their daughter, Nicole, reside in Salem, Utah. Shauna married John K. Dickson. They,have four daughters, Reagan, Ashley, Page, Mackenzie, and live, in Ashburn, Virginia. Calene married Calvin L. Hall. They '; Elder Kelvin Remund, - son of Kirt and Christine Remund of Spanish Fork, has been called to serve as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Kobe, Japan Mission. He will enter the MTC on March 12. Lordy, lordy Christine's INTERIORS Affordable Luxury " Ellie turned one on March 5. She is the daughter of Todd and Nicole Houghton. Ellie is such a sweet girl. She is always so happy and has a smile for you. She has an older brother, Carson, who is doing a great job of making her tough. Ellie is a very busy girl, always watching to play with anything her brother has. Her grandparents are Russ and Carolyn Hanson and Stan and Merilee Houghton, both from Woodland Hills. We love being with her birthday, Ellie. We love sweet personality. Happy you. Kolten Bradshaw have four children, Halston Lee, James Riley, Mason, Mindy, and a home in Draper. Lee was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, and two sisters, Archie, Clifton, John D. (Jack), Vem, Bessie Atwood, and Ila Atwood. Surviving him are Melva Hancock, and Norma Jo (Louis) Bunnell, as well as sister-in-law, Marie W. Huff. Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 11, at 11 a.m. at the Spanish Fork 3rd Ward LDS Chapel.. A viewing was held on Monday, March 10, from 6-8 p.m at Walker Mortuary and Tuesday at the church. The family is forever grateful to neighbors, family members, friends, doctors, nurses, and care-givers who assisted Lee in his determination to stay in his home as long as possible.
