That and more was explained to everyone who came to listen to Spanish Fork's fifth and sixth-grade choir at Larsen Elementary on December 5, 2007. This was their first concert, entitled All American Christmas. Their conductor, Julie Peery, is a third grade teacher at Larsen. Some choir members also sang spectacular solos. During their concert they explained the history or development of Christmas traditions in the U.S. During their performance, you could almost see the glistening snow and hear the bells ring. The Audience eagerly joined the choir to sing "We Wish You a Merry Christmas" The concert welcomed in a great holiday season. MISS VISIT: Jennifer Stone, Spanish Fork/Salem Jr. Miss, recently visited Spanish Oaks Elementary to talk about the Be Your Best Self Program. This program is the platform for Jr. Misses nationwide, and it's about improving yourself in order to become the best you can be. Jennifer presented this program to the sixth graders at the elementary, and taught them about the seven points of the program. These points include eating the right foods, getting a good education, making goals, and others. Through this program the children were able to learn about ideas such as how making healthy habits now can improve later life and why it is important to make and keep goals. D.A.R.E.
