Show -N H W S- Spanish Fork Shopping stress Tree mistake: WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 19, 2007 A3 Coveting what matters most Ramblin' Roads Charia Zeeman " I love Christmas, I really do, but there are times (and this year is one of them) it seems that no matter what I have tried to do, I have run into problems! Major and minor problems! Let's look at last week. It began simply enough. I called each of my children to find out what each of them wants for Christmas — at least give me an alert as to what they ; are interested in this week, or better yet, today! It seems that they change their minds ; every day. My son had no idea. My daughter had to think about i it. My other daughter gave me some ideas off the top of . her head. A couple'of days • later, my first daughter called : me back with an idea for each - of her sons. No idea for her daughter, nor for her and her husband. Off to the.store I went and bought what gifts I could. I also went to the post office. Oh! A letter from the bank — I was overdrawn! No way! I had just deposited a check in that account. I double checked, and sure enough. I had made an error or two or three. I thought I had check protection on that account! Nope! Then I checked the deposit slip — I had redeposited the check into the account it was written on. Off to the bank to spend thirty minutes rectifying the problem. A call to my son gave me an answer to two problems — what do, or would the children, like or want? Another trip to the stores. Home I went, happy as a lark until I tried to close my garage door to the tune of a horrible noise. The control for the electric door was shot. That and the glasses I had to order took a big chunk out of my Christmas account. Okay, I can deal with this. I changed my furniture around to accommodate my two Christmas trees. One room is now too small for the furniture - and the tree. And the other room refuses to accommodate a table which has been there over a year! Shift everything again! Out came my trees and all the ornaments and other decorations I use. Tree number one had gotten damp over the year, and although it was dry, it had gone from shimmering white to some limbs of a yucky yellow hue. That's okay, I can hide them under ornaments, I hope. Tree number two had an accident when I moved, so I did some make-shift corrections and put it together, almost. There are 12 missing limbs. Now where could they be? Did I mention the sweater I have to fix as soon as possible? -or how about the sweater that has attracted some unknown spots of what all over it? They're yellowish too, but not from moisture. Okay, I am now a week later than I had planned on being with everything. My to-do list is now much shorter than it was. One thing is certain at this point — Christmas will come, and it WILL be merry! I'll be wrapping presents on Christmas Eve and ditching all the half done projects until later. Ah, well! And so goes the Story of my life! Have a happy day! Grandma's Recipes Dad, Mom, and three children, decided one year to go to the mountains and cut their own Bishop David Huff on the Christmas tree. The proper permit was obtained, and one violin.
