She spoke at the Liberty 2nd Ward on September 21, 2003. Weddings Mr. & Mrs. Brian Wilson Dangerfield-Wilson Josie Dangerfield and Brian Wilson were united in marriage on September 13, 2003. A reception was held in their honor at the Rendezvous Lodge in Huntsville. Parents of the bride are Cory and Kathy Thompson of Huntsville and Steve Dangerfield of Centerville. Parents of the groom are George and Charlotte Wilson of Hooper. Josie Dangerfield graduated from Bountiful High School. Brian Wilson graduated from Fremont High School. She is employed by Bailey’s Allied Moving & Storage. He is employed by Maxwell Asphalt. Birthdays Carter Staples Mckayla Ruth Jenkins Edna Irene Carter celebrated her 90th birthday. She was honored at a family gathering in Huntsville. She was born September 13, 1913, in Ogden, to Sarah and James Houghton. She married George W. Carter in Farmington. She retired from Swift and Co. after 30 years where she gained many friends and memories. As a member of the LDS Church, she has been involved with Relief Society and visiting teaching. She has many friends and associations she gained through her activities as a past and present member of the Eagles Lodge, as well as a former member of the Ladies of Elks at the Toy Elks Lodge. She and her husband spent 29 winters in Arizona as snowbirds. She still takes an occasional trip to Wendover with her sisters. She resides in Huntsville, where she spends her time as hostess at family gatherings and visits. She has one son Marvin G. Carter. Her four grandchildren are Connie (Jim) Robison, Karen (Rex) Judkins, Brock (Holly) Carter, and Quinn (Bonnie) Carter. She has 24 great-grandchildren and their spouses, and 24 great-great-grandchildren. E r m a Shaw Staples of Eden will celebrate her 90th birthday at an open house on October 18, 2003 at the Hearthside Reception Erma Staples Center, 5612 E. 2200 N., Eden, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. Friends and family are invited to join in the celebration. Erma was born October 19, 1913 in Pleasant View, Utah to John R. and Josephine Cottam Shaw, the second of ten children. She married Grant Staples in the Logan Temple on May 20, 1933. She attended Weber County schools, and graduated from Weber High in 1931. Erma is an active member of the LDS Church, and has served in numerous auxiliary positions. She also served as an ordinance worker in the Ogden LDS Temple Her children and their spouses are Max G. and Gaye Staples of Bountiful, Taylor and Connie S. Merrill of Sandy, and Dee R. and Margo Preece Staples of Layton. Max and his wife Gaye are currently serving an LDS mission in New Bedford, Massachusetts. She also has 12 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. It is requested that no gifts be presented. HUNTSVILLE — Mckayla Ruth Jenkins, four-year-old daughter of David and Ruth McKay Jenkins, died in an accidental drowning on Friday, September 5, 2003. She was received into God’s loving hands and the welcoming arms of her grandparents. Mckayla was born June 2, 1999 and is one of seven children. She was a rambunctious four-year-old, and was blessed with an energetic love of life, dogs, cats, horses and all animals. She had a charm about her with her dimpled cheeks, sparkling eyes, and freckled pug nose. Her hands were busy in many ways, whether they were helping, loving, or getting into trouble. The family are members of the Huntsville 1st Ward. She is survived by her parents, David and Ruth Jenkins; five brothers and one sister, Jordan David Jenkins, Benjamin McKay Jenkins, Zachary Gunn Jenkins, Jackson Rex Jenkins, Madeline Jenkins, and Kolon Nyron Jenkins, all of Huntsville. She is also survived by grandparents Donna McKay, currently serving an L.D.S. mission in Australia; Nyron and Sharon Jenkins, Midvale; one great-grandmother, Helen Paul, Salt Lake City; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her grandfather K. Gunn McKay and one uncle. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, September 9, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. at the Huntsville 1st Ward Chapel, 277 South 7400 East, Huntsville, Utah. Interment, Huntsville City Cemetery. Reduced Below Market. BRIGHAM CITY - Mae Rawlins Jorgensen, 91, died Thursday, August 7, 2003 at a local care center of causes incident to age. She was born September 27, 1911 in Lewiston, Utah, a daughter of Jasper Alfonzo and Cora May Burbank Rawlins. Mae was a graduate of North Cache High School, and earned her teaching certificate from Utah State University. On December 23, 1932, Mae married Charles Allen Jorgensen in Logan, Utah. Allen preceded Mae in death on December 8, 1976. Mae was a resident of Huntsville for 66 years, and lived in Brigham City for the past five years. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she served in various capacities including Primary President and Relief Society President. She enjoyed her service as an Ordinance Worker in the Ogden Temple. Mae was a member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers. She was an avid reader and enjoyed quilting. Surviving are one son and two daughters, Allen R. Jorgensen, Providence, Utah; Ruth J. Hamblin, Roosevelt, Utah; Donna Mae J. Hurst, Brigham City, Utah; 15 grandchildren and 39 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers and sister, her husband, and one grandson. Funeral services were held August 12 at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, with Bishop Alvin K. Lemon officiating. Interment, Huntsville City Cemetery. Email condolences to the family at: lom@lindquistmortuary.com. Joseph Floyd Barnett On September 9, 2003 our father, J. Floyd Barnett, left this life. Dad was blessed with a long and active life of more than 102 years. When we think of Dad, we think of a quiet man who lived the gospel of Jesus Christ by what he did each and every day. He taught by example. He was a great teacher. Floyd was born April 30, 1901 in North Ogden. He was the oldest son of Joseph Barnett and Gertrude Pickford. He had two sisters, Mabel and Lucille; and one brother, Melvin. Floyd attended school in Pleasant View. He graduated from Weber Academy in 1922, and continued his college studies there when the Academy was in the process of converting from a high school to a college. He was a member of the first Weber College Basketball Team. Floyd began teaching school for Weber School District in 1923. He later received his bachelor’s degree from Utah State. He taught for 43 years, working at the following schools: Roy, Marriott, Huntsville, and Weber High. Floyd was a teacher, coach, and a principal. He influenced thousands of students. Floyd married Josephine Robins in 1928. They had three children. She died in 1937. He married Mazie Newey in 1938. They had four children. He loved his family, and loved to have them around. He has 40 grandchildren, 78 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. He worked as the Ogden River Water Commissioner for 35 years.
