On Wednesday, April 22, while pruning a tree at the home of her sister, she decided to climb to a limb somewhat above her. She lipped, falling a short distance in such a way that a bone in her knee was broken. She was transported to the Uintah Basin Medical Clinic where a cast was put in place which roaches to her hip. She will be somewhat handicapped for the duration of the bone healing process which the doctor indicates will be 2 weeks. Calvin Roberta .was rushed to emergency at the Uintah Basin Medical Clinic in Roosevelt Tuesday night, Apr 21, because of an accident with one ofhis horses. The horse kicked him with both feet in his chin and shoulder Calvin flew into the air a number of feet with the force ofthe kick. He experienced a bone of hia shoulder being broken and a severe and deep gash made in hia chin. He is at home recuperating and experiencing lots of pain. . Another victim of an accident in our community ofBluebell was Lane Goodrich who wa injured in a work related accident where he had some of his fingers on his right hand severely cut, smashed and broken. Howard and Maxine Todd transported their tractor to Kayesville to the home of their son, Michael, who is in the process of finishing up the building of a new home. There was land leveling and tractor work required so Dad and Mom went to give assistance. They left Monday April 20 and returned on Wednesday, April 22. While there they visited with their son, Marie, and his family of Syracuse in commemoration of Marks birthday anniversary which waa on April 20. The dual purpose of attending a wedding ofa friend and the mission report ofElder Donald Miles brought Ronald Powell home the weekend of the 18 19 of April to visit with his parents, Calvin and Janet Powell. lS22 p Pauline Winkler Shorn Loertscher - 454-39- 7 Over the L.D.S. General conference weekend, Kathy and Jeff Groll ofTremonton came to viait with her parents. Dean and Marlene Roberta. Easter weekend Dean and Marlene Roberta drove out with the Calvin and Margo Roberta family to the SaltLake City and Logan area. Dean and Marlene stopped in Salt City to visit with their children. Coray and Roxanne, and their families before they went to Hooper to spend Saturday hunting Easter eggs with Sterling and Mela family. Saturday evening, April 11, a surprise birthday party waa given in commemoration of Deans seventieth birthday anniversary. The family group who assembled at the Prairie Schooner restaurant for the celebration were Sharon and LaMar West of American Falls, Idaho, Brent, Kim, Brandy and Tony Roberts of Providence, Gregory and Laura Roberta of Logan, Sterling and Mel along with their children of Hooper, Roxanne and Alan Pollmann of Salt Lake City, and Calvin and Margo Roberta of Bluebell. Marlene reported that it was a lovely evening for all the family who were able to be there. the Greg and Laura April 17-1Roberts family of Logan came to visit with Dean and Marlene Roberta for the weekend. While Gregory and his boys enjoyed riding hones and playing on the form with Grandpa Dean, Marlene and Laura were busy with their family histories. Sunday, the junior Roberta attended Bluebell Ward meetings with the senior Roberts, Marlene and Dean before returning home. Elder Donald Miles reported his Ireland Dublin mission to the Bluebell Ward membership Sunday, April 19. Speaking in Sacrament Meeting with him were parents, Ronald and Carolyn and his brother, Gregory Miles. His older brothers, Curtis and Daryl, offered the prayers. An overflow congregation of family and friends were in attendance to listen to Elder Miles re 9, daughter ofVerl and Leah Haalem, flew to Salt Lake where her brother Dan picked her up and brother her to her parents home. Laura spent the weekend with Veil and Leah and her parents drove her back to Salt Lake on Sunday where she caught her plane to San Francisco. Kay Rasmussen has been installed as second counselor in Relief Society. Arvin and Maureen Bellon drove to Provo last Thursday for foe wedding iffAdam Gilbert to Karen Lindsay, Adam being their nephew. The couple was married in the Mt. Timpanogas Temple on April 24. The Bellona helped celebrate the 94th birthday ofMaureens mother. Her mother feels quite well and had a wonderful time at her birthday party. On Sunday, the Ballons attended the mission report in Provo of Jonathan Madsen who has returned from his mission to New Zealand. Jonathan is the son of the late Dr. Frank Madsen and his mother is Kay Madsen. Laura Haalem, of San Francisco, Ronald and Carolyn Miles hooted a family dinner for approximately fifty members of their family and friends who came to attend the mission report ofElder Donald Miles at their home Sunday. Out ofthe area family members attendingwas their daughter, Darla Harris, granddaughters, Lade and Lona Lyons, of Meaner, the Reed and Paula Esplin family of Spanish Fork and ofHeber. Most ofRons and Carolyns brothers and sisters and families of this area were able to be there. During Elder Donald Miles tenure as a missionary in Ireland, during the Christmas season, he toured the mission with three other Elders as a quartet singing in many places. The Elders sang in such place as senior citizen groups, patients in hospitals, special meetings, and fireside. One of the Elders, Kyle Jeffrey with whom he sang was in attendance at Elder Miles report. Biorn Zola Spencer 53-4528 A baby boy was bom Thursday, April 23 in foe Vernal hospital to Jo and Amber Gardner. He weighted 7 lbs 14 oz and named Corbin Roy. He has three sisters. Jasmin, Olivia and Rachel. Many relatives and friends from Neola and Roosevelt area attended funeral services in Orem on Thursday, April 23 for Orval Mecham. Visiting with the ElRay Duncans over the weekend were Stven and Marianne Searcy and three children of Lehi and Tom and Laurie Davis and four children of Helper. They all came to attend the homecoming for Elder Travis Wall. John and Roxanne Walker and twoboyiofKeams and Julie Duncan ofSalt Lake City spent the weekend home with parents Beaver and Gwen Duncan and to welcome home Elder Travis Wall who just returned home from foe Little Rock Arkansas Mission. Many other friends and relatives also visited Sunday in Neola including Missionary companions and others who served in foe same mission with Travis. Kirk and Allison Schulthies and two children of Tooele, Tad and Dianna Tenny and two children of Dallas Texas visited a lengthy time with their mother Marylin Draney. On Friday, April 24, Teryn, Brandon, Xenia, Shane and Mindy Henrie travelled to Neola to spend the weekend. The girls spent the day in Vernal with Janille. On Sunday all the family including their newest addition Preston Luke, Mykel and Camilles new adopted son were able to spend the afternoon for dinner including grandma Irene Henrie. They then all returned to their homes that evening. Rawlin Spencer of Magna and his brother Sheldon Spencer of Kearns drove an Avis car to Vernal and stopped in Neola on their way back home to visit their mother Zola Spen cer. The April daughters of Pioneers held their meeting on April 20 at our Building in Duchesne at 1 p.m. The two hostess were Awella Moon and Orinda Gee. They served Cherry Pie and trimmgs, the lesson was given by Cindy Bruton on foe History of Morgon Co.. The Daughters held bake sale at the hall and there were 13 members present Jennie Merkley reporta that they have had to put her brother Roy Chatwin in a Care Center in Orem. He ia almost completely paralyzed. Lena Thomas drove to the airport on April 20 where she picked up her two nieces, Pataey Tew alt and Bonnie Thomaa that had just returned back from spending three weeks in England. The girls plan to apend some time viaiting with girls softball teams congratulate each other at the conclusion old Pataeys father Elmer Thomas. Pataey ia from California and Bonnie ia from Sandpoint Idaho. Connie Robbina will have her annual Doll Show at her home on the lat and 2nd of May from 6 p.m. both days. Connie has some beautiful dolla. Emmett and Dorothy Evans had her sister LuAnn and her husband Bob Weeks and their daughter Marie with her sons come from Weston Idaho. They spent the night with the Evans. Verl Nelsen was brought home on Tuesday by her daughter Rita and Bob Adamanvich of Gurney Wisconsin. They had been up there to attend the funeral for Ritas uncle Earl Pearson. Earl passed away on April 8 and his funeral waa May 11 in Ogden.
