A Spring Carnival will be Held at Altamont- High School on - : , ' i Saturday evening on May 18 from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. Everyone of all ages la invited from surrounding communities. What a perfect time of the year for all of ua to get together and support our school. Fun and excitement is planned for the whole evening. The following boothswill be ready for . your entertainment; dunking . . booth, dance contest for singles and couples all ages, win live goldfish, have a picture taken of you and your sweetheart, fortune Idling, ' marrying sam will, be there, basketball throw, pie throw, softball throw, lights out ..string pull, fish pond, dime throw, darts, and a booth to buy crazy hats. At 9:30 p.m. there will be awards fur the winners of the dance contest, basketball throw, the couple thats married the most, and the bean bottle count. t)uring the carnival there will be food booths set up selling hot dogs, ice cream, scones, pop; cotton candy, and popcorn. The Page 17 co-valedictori- ans tickets sold for the evening will be 25 cents and 50 cents. Please come and support the Altamont High School Booster Club. The Booster Club would like to thank Mr. Bob Marshall and Mrs. Joann Burtons 6th grade class for the great support diown in the poster conteet held for our Spring Carnival. Winners of the contest are; 1st place Stacy Gomichec, her poster is displayed in Steven sons. 2nd place winner is ' Chery Bird, her poster ia displayed in Mohlmans, 3rd place winner is Amber Watkins her poster is placed in the office at the Elementary. A large teddy bear was awarded to 1st place, $4.00 worth of tickets for the carnival was given to 2nd place, and a hat was given to 3rd place. The 6th grade has placed posters in Roosevelt, Mountain Home, Bluebell, and Altamont. Thanks again 6th grade for your support. The Altamont High School Cheerleaders would like to invite everyone to a dance at the Tennis Court right after the carnival from 9:30 to 11:30 p.m. harge is Union High School has announced that have been identified for the class of 1985. The valedictorians are Liesle Grover and Lori Vernon. These two young ladies have maintained straight A averages in three years of high school. Both which girls received a few A-'means their GPA's are slightly less than the 4.0 possible. Lori is the'daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Glen Vernon of Roosevelt. She is planning on attending Ricks College this fall, where she .will be studying interior design. Liesle is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leon Grover of Roosevelt. She is planning Utah State and studying engineering in September. The salutatorian for Union High during 1985 is Sharmel Bertoch. She has a pair of B grades to match the rest of her As. Her plans also include this fall. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Merrill college Bertoch. s, kindergarten teacher at East Elementary, was greeted by Care Bear and Smurf during teacher appreciaion week. Graduates at Union High to number 130 Union High School will be graduating 130 seniors in the class of 1985. The graduation exercises will be held on Friday, May 31, in the Football Field Stadium at 7:30 p.m. If weather does not permit, the exercises will be moved to the Auditorium. This years program will.be under the direction of the Senior Class Officers, Jeff Madsen, President. The advisors are Shiri Rawlings and Tana . Dunsmore. Parent advisory committee Myton Elementary School will be holding a special Title IV Parent Advisory Committee This year's honor graduates, who have achieved a 3.65 GPA or above for their three years in high school are: Lori Vernon, Liesle Grover, Sharmel Bertoch, Jeffrey Madsen, Ronda Rock wood, Kellie Brown, Warren Henrie, Stephanie Malnar, Stan Jorgensen, Tamara Goodrich, Delia Winterton, Cindy Chaael, Laurel Asay, Toni Scott, Clark Draney, Sondra Rock wood, Deborah Kettle, Suzanne Smith, Brett Campbell, and Alison Sharmel Bertoch is the Salutatorian The valedictorian at the Roosevelt Jr. High this year is Rachel le Winn. She came through with a 9.88 GPA. She ws the Evans. meeting on May 20. The purpoee of this meeting is to elect officers for the upcoming school year. Parental, support is greatly needed. To make this evening more enjoyable, a pot luck dinner has been planned, starting at 7 p.m. Bring a favorite dish. The entire family is welcome to attend. The students, Aaron Reary, Glen Funk, LeAnne Taylor and Gina Goodspeed entered wood projects and each took a Superior ribbon home. Mr. Reynolds was very pleased with his students.
