Answers to this typical question are simple although ironically complicated by a wide choice of collecting areas. The Dugway geode is the nrost popular rock of this area. The Cedar Mountains iii the vicinity of White Rock, an old Indian camp site, yields many types of colored agate. PIECES OF pottery, chips of arrowheads, skin scrapers, drills and other tools used liy the early inhabitants of Skull Valley and the West deseret are still plentiful. These artifacts can lie found around many stabilized sand dunes and along most water sources where animal life was more abundant. Clover Creek and the Skull Valley ponds are good examples. Although these areas have been searched for years, nice finds can lie made particularly this time of year. It is not too difficult to find a new artifact area an interest and imagination are the only requirements. Caution should lie exercised during your rock hunt.
