Show Duchesne and Altamont WBBA all stars The last game of the season were played at Altamont Wedneaday for Altamont WBBA boys. Karren'a team from Ducheane came out in first place winning 17 out of 20 games. Altamont was in second place with Polar Queen third, Kohl's fourth and Tabiona in fifth place. Du-chea- At the regular meeting of the Roosevelt Area Chamber of Commerce, held last week, some 40 members heard Merrill Millett, manager of Moon Lake Electric Association, point out growth factors, problems and future plans of the power company. Various other business items were also part of the regular monthly meeting of the chamber. Mr. Millett stated that the company now has some $20 million invested in facilities to serve power users in their e area. They have 87 employees and 13 part-timApproximately 35 of these employees work out of the Roosevelt office. With more than 7,000 consumers now being served, the manager pointed out that expected revenue for the company will exceed $4,000,000 this year. With increased power demands, and a larger number of consumers, the power dein the mands have increased about 27 past year. The company recently had a $2 million loan approved through REA, after the by the presiprogram was dent. This will be used for new facilities to handle the vast new demands. During the first six months of this year, some 66 miles of new distribution lines were installed. Besides the employees of Moon Lake working on these installations, two or three outside construction crews have continually been employed to construct lines and facilities. A backlog of line work is still facing the company, Mr. Millett reported. Individual consumer service is kept as current as possible, he pointed out, but new installations required line work may take as much as several weeks to complete. In other business at the chamber meeting, members approved plans to study and implement a "Better Business Bureau" in Roosevelt. It was felt that full-tim- All Stars were named after these games. Boys were picked by the five coaches and voted upon. Birth certificates are needed as soon as possible. Hospital certificates are not legal. , It was felt each boy and their parents helped make this year a sucess. Each boy was ask to bring something to sell at the last game to help buy the hats for the all WBBA ALL STARS stars. Check your hobby association they may be able to offer group An argument between two men early Saturday morning, resulted in the death of one of the men. According to investigating officers, Joe Black, 19, Ft. Duchesne had apparently been arguing with an older man at the Wild Horse Inn, a tavern located about 9 miles east of Roosevelt on highway 40. Witnesses said the men left the bar, and walked outside where one man drew a knife, striking the younger man in the chest.. Three girls transported the injured man to the Duchesne County Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival. The examining doctor said Mr. Black had been struck one time in the left side of the chest almost directly over the heart. Witnesses gave officers the name of the man who had been with the deceased. A search for the suspect was started with Ule Indian Tribal Police officers from Uintah County, as well as Duchesne County and Highway Patrol and Roosevelt City police assisting officers from the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Mr. Crandall said that the recent BOR consolidation should result in a considerable savings which could reduce the overhead coats charged to BOR projects. He also staled that he thought the water users should be fully consulted concerning the projects and that this could be achieved. In other action, the Board heard a request from Mr. Dix Larsen of the Orem City Council for assistance from the Central Utah Water Conservancy District in supplying water for the growing needs of Orem City and in building a water purification plant for northern Utah County. It waa also reported to the Board that the Environmental Impact Statement on the Bonneville Unit of the Central Utah Project had been forwarded from the Commissioner of Reclamation to the Secretary of Interior is expected within a week, according to Lynn S. Ludlow, general manager of the Central Utah Water Conservancy District.
