He is getting along fine, but will have to wear a metal helmet for six months. Division Administrator Harvey C. Hirschi said this year's 3,003 successful case closures represent more than a twenty percent increase over the number of persons rehabilitated during fiscal 1972. Dr. Hirschi added that this year's figure represents the largest number of persons rehabilitated in Utah in the his- Iiarsen, Merle Lisonbee, Psuline Winkler, Maxine Todd and Karen Duke. "It's equally pleasing to note that 767 of these people were receiving public assistance either before or during the rehabilitation process,' said Dr. Hirschi "The employment of these people andor their placement in useful and productive positions removes this additional tax burden on the state." The Division Administrator indicated additional information is being compiled about the record number of successful case closures and this will be available in a comparative report sometime in August The report will show rehabilitation client characteristics and other data, such ss a breakdown of handicaps by disability categories, age ranges, sex, race, and other such information. Dr. Hirschi pointed out that auch information is helpful in planning and determining the type of services needed by the some 12,000 clients in ongoing rehabilitation programs. At present the Utah State Division of Rehabilitation Services operates in 36 locations around the state which are manned by 97 rehabilitation counselors.
