The play is unique in that it was written entirely by the sixth-grastudents. The title, The Framing Of Our Rising Constitution was suggested after a story was told about the chair George Washington sat in during the Constitutional Convention in de , I 1787. A likeness of the sun was carved in the chair, and it was said that Benjamin Franklin looked at it often and wondered during the convention if it was a rising or a setting sun. After the Constitution was signed, he said, I now know it is a rising sun. Directing the production is Brian Barlow, and Jeannine Dew.
