She taught at South Clear field Elementary School for one year, Wasatch Elementary School for three years and 21 years at Hill Field Elementary School. She also taught one year at St. George and two years in her home town of Cedar City. Ralph Beesley is a veteran teacher of 3'3 years in the Davis County School District, where he taught at the Wasatch and Hill Field Elementary Schools. He was born and raised in Driggs, Idaho and earned a degree in Elementary Education at Utah State University in 1954. Elizabeth Bateman started her teaching career in 1949, shortly after graduating from Utah State University with a degree in Elementary Education. She has taught at the Lorin Farr School in Ogden, and has taught in schools in Logan. Prior to her position at Hill Field Elementary School, she taught at Hill Top Elementary School in Layton. She has lived in England, where she studied in the elementary schools, and Japan. Irleen Eddington earned degrees in home economics and elementary education at Utah State Betty Killpack W. 300 N. The three teachers, whose combined teaching career included 96 years of service in the education field, are Robert Curran, 715 Circle, Ogden; Ardis Manning, 956 S. 4500 W., West Point; and LaRae Mathews, 2310 W. 5175 S., Roy. Curran, who teaches fifth grade at West Point, has been a teacher for 31 years. He has taught fourth through eight grades in Weber, Ogden and Davis districts, as well as Idaho and Hawaii. Mrs. Mannings 28 years of service have included work in Mor-- . gan and Juab counties. South Clearfield Elementary will honor teachers and cooks who are retiring at an open house' at the school, May 26 from 3:30 to 5 p.m. Those retiring are: Jean Maughan, 25 years; Edrie Kingsbury, 33 years; LaRee Gibbons, 33'2 years; Clyde Garrett, 28 years; Leland Stenquist, 33 years; Delbert Francom, 30 years; Helen Iverson, 20 years; Marjorie 26 years; North Park Elementary Principal Joseph Allen, who is retiring at the end of this school year, will be honored at an open house Wednesday, May 27. The event will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. in the school library. The public is invited to attend. Allen has been principal at North Park since 1983. He has 38 years of service in the education field and was principal of several Roy elementary schools.
