Show 6A Lakeside Review, Wednesday, May 20, 1987 wm Architects tour homes : LAYTON Old architecture and building construction in New York, may seem far removed from that of Davis County but it is surprising how similar it can be in some respects, according to a New York resident, Betsy Cron-le- y. Ms. Cronley is the current president of the National Vernacular Architecture Forum. Last week 90 members of that forum met in Utah to tour various sites and examine local architecture forms. One day was spent in Davis County with stops in West Bountiful, Kaysville, and Layton. The tour was provided lunch in Lay-to- n by members of the Historical Society and the Layton Heritage Museum. ' Most of the homes in Davis County that were visited were of Victorian vintage. Many were originally designed by William Allen, a noted local architect and builder in the late 1800s. Wall has been a resident of Davis County for 14 years. She and her husband, Steve, a native of Davis County, are the parents of four children. She teaches business law and accounting at Woods Cross High and will be retiring at the end of the current school year.
