The Tiny Stars of America contest consists of six age divisions and was founded in New York. As the state winner, Brianna will go to Disney World in Orlando, Fla., to participate in the na- tional contest on Sept. 12. The national winners will be featured in commercials. The child is the granddaughter of Barry and Jackie Flitton of Layton and Mel and Kathy Glauser of Kaysville. Nora B Stephens takes the positive approach. Instead of criticizing the schools as lots of people do nowadays, she helps the schools help her children i succeed. Kaysville Nora B has positive feelings about the education the seven Stephens cadet earns ROTC award children have received in the public schools of Davis County. And she is deeply concerned that quality education not be diminished. KAYSVILLE Cadet David Major of Kaysville took highest honors in M16 rifle marksmanship competition during a recently concluded ROTC Advance Camp at Fort Lewis, Wash. Major, the son of retired Lt. Col. Richard and Carol Major, received the top marksmanship score within his regiment of approximately 250 cadets during the U.S. Army sponsored advanced camp that ended July six-we- 29. Major is a junior at Weber State College studying law enforcemcnt. The advanced camp is de; signed to put cadets in stressful, leadership positions to see how theyll perform, and to assess their value to the army, said Capt. Harry Hamilton, an assistant professor of military science at Weber State. Weber State had 17 cadets at the camp. The booklets included a neighborhood survey, an ice cream menu and a humorous story about ice cream land. The seven children of Jay and Rebecca Crowther have completed their third annual family club by making and eating more than 12 flavors of homemade ice cream. The younger children were awarded participation ribbons in the fair while the older three received blue ribbons.
