Show Lakeside Review, Wednesday, August 13, 1986 Obituaries Rex F. Waite SYRACUSE Rex F. Waite, 69, formerly of West Point, died of a massive stroke July 29, at the Kaiser Hospital, Sacramento, Calif. He was born June 15, 1917, at Syracuse. A son of Alvin B. and Anna Frew Waite. He was an elder of the IDS Church. He married Nora Adams Feb. 9, 1939. They later divorced. He married Lilas Mprris Nov. 9, 1942; they later divorced.' He married Donna Stanton July 18, ,1952; they later divorced. He attended elementary schools in West Point and Syracuse and attended Davis High School, and graduated from LDS Seminary. He worked at the Sperry Mills in Ogden, as a mechanic in Kansas City, then worked at Lock-hea- d Aircraft at Hawthorne, Calif., and at the State Capitol in Sacramento, Calif. He retired from the latter in 198o! He is survived by a daughter, Charlene Smith, and grandchildren of Cheyenne, Wyo. The following brothers and sisters: Wilda Norris, Mesa, Ariz.; Arivd Waite, Meridian, Idaho; Verl Waite, Syracuse; Sherman Waite, West Point; Carma Sedgwick, Sacramento, Calif.; ArDeane Yeates, Fountain Valley, Calif.; and Sharone Belnap, Hooper. Memorial services were held at the Arcadia ward, Sacramento, Calif. Viewing was at Kaysville Lindquist Mortuary from 8 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 1. Graveside service on Sat. Aug 2, at 11 a.m. in the Syracuse Cemetary. Stephen H. Myers Laura Smedley Gailey KAYSVILLE Clifford George Green, 75, of 60 S. 200 W.. died Wednesday. July 30, 1986 at his home of cancer. CLEARFIELD Stephen Henry Myers, 29, of 445 S. State St., died Monday, July 28, 1986, in Ogden of causes pending a medical examiner's report. He was born April 15, 1957 in Topeka, Kan., a son of Donald B. and Mary A. Henry Myers. He had been a cement construction worker.He had lived in Newfoundland SALT LAKE CITY Laura Smedley Gailey, 87, 2046 Walker Lane, formerly of Syracuse, died, Saturday, August 2, 1986, at the home of a daughter of heart failure. She was born December 20, 1898, in Bountiful, Utah, a daughter of Henry and Margaret Waite Smedley. She married Marlin Gailey on November 17, 1920, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He died May 12, 1964. She had lived in Syracuse and Salt Lake City. She was a high school graduate. She was a member of the Syracuse 1st LDS Ward where she had been Primary president, in the Relief Society presidency, and a teacher in various organizations. He was a lifelong resident of Kaysville. He attended Davis County Schools and from Davis High graduated School. He had been employed for several years at Barnes Banking Company until his retirement. He had also been a meat cutter at Bowmans Market and staff manager for Prudential Life Insur- He was a member of the Kaysville 1st LDS Ward where he had served as bishop and first counselor in the bishopric. He had also served in the superintendency of the Sunday School, Elders Quorum president, ward clerk and stake executive secretary. He had served on Council in 1948. He was an avid the Kaysville City gardner. Surviving are his widow of Kaysville, two sons and one daughter, Rodney C. Green, Kaysville; Les M. Green, Lay-toMrs. Gene (AnnaLee) Vallace, Bountiful; nine grandchildren and 10 n; Also surviving are one brother and one sister, Walwyn T. Green, Kaysville; Mary G. Bacon, Fresno, Calif. Services were held Monday at the Kaysville Tabernacle 200 W. and Center St., with Bishop Dennis Hill of the Kaysville 1st Ward officiating. Interment, Kaysville City Cemetery. B. Sevy CLEARFIELD Randy Blaine Sevy, 28, of 1081 S. 1000 E was found Sunday, Aug. 3, 1986, in Pineview Reservoir, victim of an apparent drowning. He was born Jan. 19, 1958 in Ogden, a son of Ira Clark and Betty Jean Tubbs Sevy. He married Rosann Pam Olivas Joshua Pike Briggs Sept. 16, 1977 in Roy, Utah. He had been a mechanic at Utility Trailer.He had lived most of his life in the Ogden area.He attended Clearfield High School and DeBry Institute of Technology. He . was a member of the LDS Church. He was an avid sportsman. He enjoyed hiking, fishing, hunting and snow shoeing. Surviving are his widow of Clearfield, one son, Randen L. Sevy, Clear- SYRACUSE Joshua Pike Briggs, IV2, of 1184 So. 2500 West, died Saturday, Aug. 2, 1986, in the Primary Children's Hospital, of an accidental drowning. He was born October 26, 1984, in Layton, Utah, a son of Neal L. and Caroline Pike Briggs. His parents are members of the Syracuse 1st LDS Ward. Surviving are his parents of Syracuse, and two brothers, Daniel Neal Briggs and Jacob Delbert Briggs, both of Syracuse. Also surviving are his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Briggs, Syracuse; Mr. and Mrs Frank Pike, Spanish Fork. Services were held Tuesday at the Syracuse Stake Center, 1700 So. 2000 West, with Lynn Sorensen officiating. Funeral directors, Lindquist's Kaysville Mortuary. He attended Clearfield High School and graduated from St. Marys High School in Colorado Springs, Colo.He served with the U.S. Army during the in Vietnam Era. ROY Cowley Della Livingston Cowley, 86, of 5149 S. 2325 W., Roy, died Sunday, July 27, 1986, at her home of causes incident to age. She was born Oct. 17, 1899, in Spring City, Utah, a daughter of Thomas and Eliza Henderson Livingston. She married Fred S. Cowley on June 27, 1918, in the Salt Lake Temple. He died June 8, 1981. She was a member of the LDS Church and had been active in Relief Society and Primary. She had lived in Spring City, Granite, Salt Lake City, Grace, Idaho, Ashton, Idaho, Provo and Ogden. Surviving are one son and two daughters, Fred Tad' Cowley, Boise, Idaho; Marcel Weaver, Roy; Mrs. Frank (Carol) Tribe, Ogden; 10 grandchildren and 20 Funeral services were held Wednesday, July 30, at the Myers Mortuary Chapel in Roy. He was reared and educated in Clinton. He lived in the Clinton area where he farmed and worked at the Ogden Arsenal.
