Kern composed dozens of tunes for Broadway productions, and conductor Alec Wilder, in his 1972 study American Popular Song, singled out Kern for exemplifying the pure, uncontrived melodic line more characteristically than any other writer of American theater music. The orchestra will perform many Kern tunes, including Smoke Gets in Your Eyes; OP Man River; Make Believe; Why Do I Love You; All the Things You Are; and The Way You Look Tonight. The program also includes selections by Cole Porter; Rodgers and Hammerstein, and others. The concerts are made possible, in part, by a grant from AT & T. Main, Layton Extension Service Structure Changed Utah State University Extension has reorganized its statewide structure into three districts. The state was previously divided into eight extension areas. The administrative changeover,-whicbecame effective June 1, divides the state into the northern, central east and southwest districts. R. Paul Larsen, vice president for USU Extension, said the changeover is designed to improve the administration of the statewide program. I have evaluated numerous administrative and organizational Larsen systems in extension, said, and while none is perfect this comes as close to a potentially sound system as we can have in Utah. This change will help us improve the service we provide to the residents of the state. USU Extension, using county extension personnel and specialists, helps meet local needs in the areas of agriculture, home economics, natural resources, youth and community and rural development. Three former area coordinators have been named to supervise the new extension distnets. South Clearfield Elementary additions will be completed in. November of 1986.
