An barage of 1,000 rounds of gunfire destroyed the platforms. Iranian President All Khameni voiced that his country will Definately take decisive retaliatory action. According to broadcast report by the official Islamic Republic News Agency, Reagan by this action has made a big mistake. To many individuals there doesnt seem to be any substantial reasoning for the rise and fall of the stock market. Some economists believe that a recession will come out of the terrible rising interest rates in todays economy which is caused in part by the tremendous government debt and the imbalance in trade with many other countries in the world , which also has helped to cause the drops in the stock market. President Reagan met with Congress Monday, October 26, 1987, to negotiate terms on our nations deficit They will possibly be discussing spending cuts, an increase in taxes, the trade imbalance and any other subject that can cut the deficit by at least $23 billion in 1988. President Reagan has said he will discuss anything which would be good for the American people Is our economy in trouble? Stock Market prices dropped world wide over 500 points on Sunday October 25, 1987, which in turn can lead to a world wide depression. Leading economists do not forcast this happening just yet and feel the nation does have many reservoirs that the nation did not have in 1929. Although, the Spectrum in St. George says in Mondays paper, Only a week ago, the Dow Jones industrial average fell to 1,738 74, closing at 22 6 percent of its value in a plunge eclipsing the 12 8 percent loss that occured Oct. 28, 1929. This looks like the nation may be heading for another great depression contradicting economists if President Reagan and the Congress cannot come to terms on the nations deficit. Dow Jones fell 295 98 this week closing at 1950.76, nearly 800 points below its record closing high of 2,722 42 on Aug. 25, 1987. It definitely looks as though the congress and the Reagan Administration needs to come to terms on what will be done to create a better system of checks and balances The nations budget has been long over spent and has caused a deficit higher than at any other time in Americas history President Reagan and advisors will be meeting again this week. In the story previously quoted tne author stated, The Dow dropped 235 47 points in the week that ended Oct 16, surpassing the previous weeks record drop of 158 78 points 3 that the worlds military spending is now at an all time high of $1 7 million at minute7 (OX Did You Know Across from campus Swimming Pool Jacuzzi Tennis Courts Club House Covered Parking Laundry Room Washer & Dryer hookups Washer & Dryer rentals 3 bedroom Fully Furnished Cable T.V. available DELUXE STUDENT TOWN HOMES St. George Hurry! 2-- 3 bedroom Bathroom for everyj 175 South 1000 East Only A Few Choice Bedroom Apartments bedroom 2 Contact Melanie and Rick Duslin N. 1 FAM, Peace and Development, 1987) Did You Know one billion people, . that an estimaled the majority of whom live in developing countries, are at present either literally homeless or live in inadequate shelter with no basic services7 (Habitat, IYSGH bulletin, April 1987) Did You Know . . . that while the average Filipino consumes only 89 percent of the calories needed for for adequate nutrition, the country exports about 800 calories per person per day in the form of coconut oil alone?
