The best hose for pregnant1 women are pan-tyho- se with a ma- - M ternity panel or socks. Many women first get varicose veins when they are pregnant and this is also a time of greater risk for blood clots in the veins of the legs. The reason is the increased pressure on the veins from the reproductive organs. Hose with a strong elastic band may constrict the veins and make the problem worse. strongly recommend that pregnant women sit down for 20 to 30 minutes, three or four times a day, and raise their legs so their ankles are at heart level or higher and give those veins a break. This will help prevent problems that could make the rest of their lives miserable. For one of our projects, my Cub Scout den would like to do this with some magazine pictures we have.
