Stan Varney said Colleen Maguire, 1092 S. 400 East, an employee at the apartment complex, alerted occupants in several apartments and opened doors to unoccupied apartments, allowing firemen to en-- , ter andprevent the spread of fire and smoke. Without her help, we would have had to break down several doors and would have been delayed in getting to the fire, LL Varney said. The Dec. 31 fire caused $8,000 to $10,000 damage to one apartment and smoke damage to others, he said.
