The boys team brought home 14 medals and finished in third place. The girls team, comprised of only two girls, took fifth place. FHS track team excels at state meet The Fredonia High School track team competed in the Arizona 1A State Track Meet on May 5, 2001. The boys team was well represented, bringing home a total of 14 medals and a third place team finish. JD Horlacher brought home three medals, with Scott Colson, J acob Christensen and Eric Iverson each bringing home two. Jonathan Ellis, Justin Johnson and Kin Henderson were each able to bring home Jonathan lOOmeter dash-11.8Ellis - 2nd, high jump - 5T0"; Justin Johnson- - 3rd, discus 104'; Kin Henderson - 3200 meter run, 11:38; Eric Iverson 4th, 300 meter hurdles - 50.21; 6; -- -- Colson, Horlacher, Iverson and Christensen - 4 x 100 meter relay - 46.01; Siera Bundy - 1st, 100 meter dash -- 12.75; 1st, high jump - 48" and 3rd - long jump 153". one medal. Two girls went down to the heat of Mesa, Arizona and placed fifth overall in team standings. Siera Bundy is the state champion in the 100 meter dash and the high jump, and she also placed third in the long jump. Shado Henderson threw a personal best in the discus. Overall, it was a successful track meet and a lot of fun. The Fredonia track team would like to thank all those in the community for their support. We would also like to thank Kanab High School for letting us use their wonderful facilities and coaches Brown and Kelly for their help.
