Rogers work has earned her many awards, most recently an Honorary Mention to capture what she feels and what she deeply loves. Her art is not to win awards, but to motivate and move people to higher places within themselves. Rogers received her formal education at Weber State and Brigham Young' University. In courses. pets. addition, she continually received training from Judi Betts, Roland Lee and Farrell Collette. at the 1999 Dixie Invitational Art Show. She has also received the Purchasers Award at the National Birds of Prey Exhibit, Boise, Idaho and Best of Show at the A.S.C.A. National Specialty Art Show, Central Point, Oregon. Currently, Rogers resides at Hidden Lake, Glendale where e while still she paints finding time to raise her three boys and two girls, not to mention award winning Australian Shepherds. She also enjoys raising Welsh ponies and quarter horses on the family ranch. Rogers grew up on a ranch in Goshen, Utah, drawing and painting the world around her -animals and ranch workers. In evocative watercolors, Julie Rogers reveals her vision of how people relate to their environment, to animals and to each other, as the featured artist for Aprils Kane County Travel Council Art Exhibit. Adding a three dimensional element to the show will be a carved wooden sculpture by her son, Matt. This MotherSon Art Exhibit will open on April 9 with a reception from 6 to 8 p.m. The show will run through May 8. On April 10, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Kanab City Park and Community Center. The Cub Scout Rain Gutter Regatta is for first place winners of each rank from each pack. Registration for all ranks will be from a.m. The Wolves start rac9:30 a.m., then around at ing 10:30 a.m. the Bears take over, and the Webelos race around 1 1:30 a.m. Prizes will be given to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners from each rank.
