Show SOUTHERN UTAH NEWS WEDNESDAY APRIL 7, 1899 News I For the week ofMarch 13th to the 19th, troopers of the Utah Highway Patrol stopped a total of 162 vehicles, issued 85 citations, wrote 94 warnings, investigated one accident, arrested one impaired driver, and assisted three motorists. Some people take their vacations so serious that they say, I cant .wait to get home, so I can rest. Debra L. Prince is one of those people, but couldnt wait to get home. We know it wasnt in- tentional, but somewhere around milepost 10, Debra decided to take a quick power nap, and found herself off the side of the road. Trooper Cluff investigated the accident and found that after Debra had fallen asleep, she went off the road and rolled tier vehicle. No injuries were reported, and Debra was wide awake for the rest of her drive. Staying in the milepost 10 area after investigating the accident, Trooper Cluff stopped a car for a cracked windshield and found the four occupants to smell something similar to marijuana. A search of the car found several ounces of marijuana, scales, and other baggies. Hunter Eldricher, Joshua Ballard, Anthony Debertolo, plus one 17 year old male, were on spring break from Utah State University, with plans to fund the vacation by selling the marijuana. All were charged with felony charges of possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute, and several paraphernalia charges. By the way, the 17 year old has already completed two years of college and doesnt like to be called Doogie Howser. Troopers Cluff, Keller and Whitaker were assigned to filming detail on the 18th near milepost 2. But that's not what I wanted to tell ya. Sections of the road needed to be shut down for short periods of time to allow the film crew to adjust the desired setting of two vehicles, a 1958 and a 2000 Chevy Impala, on Highway 89. But thats not what I wanted to tell ya. Keller was directing traffic on the south end. Cluff on the north, and Whitaker in the middle. But thats not important either. While telling Floyd Keil that he would have to wait a minute because the road was shut down, Trooper Cluff found Floyd to have been drinking, and needed to do field sobriety tests. While these tests were goingon, traffic that was stopped at duffs end didnt seem to mind the wait, because they were being entertained by Floyd and his sobriety test. But thats really not the important part either. The film crew finished filming about the same time Floyd finished his tests, and was determined to be DUI, which is also not an important part of the story. Floyd was arrested and held at the Kane County Jail for driving under the influence, but still takes second place to what Ive been waiting to tell you. While the other two troopers were directing traffic, Whitaker managed to sneak into the spectacular 1958 Impala, and the never seen before 2000, and get his picture taken. Please dont tell the other troopers. f the Wett NEVER BEEN UVED IN Very large 2 bedroom, with master retreat, 2 bath. Over 1400 sq. ft. Lots of ammenities. A must to see on 13 acre - $82,900.
