In pet grooming training, my school of over 30 years experience (now on a much smaller scale than years gone by) accepts only the serious - usually middle aged folk who are retraining themselves because of corporate downsizing and come with master degrees. Like the students I have now, a retired military person (next class), nursing, legal secretaries and all walks of life. These folks are also basically dog people in their own private lives, and are experienced in owning, showing, breeding, and obedience long before they come tome.
