Buffalo in the Parks Dear Editor: Your recent photo ofbuffalo in VT Park brings back memories of long ago when buffalo were a common sight in VT Park. When these free roaming buffalo approached too close to our station and the dwellings housing tourists, Dad would hop on his horse and frighten them away by opening and closing a large, black umbrella. As you recall, I sent you the story ofMindy, my daughters friend, losing her two-yeold in a house fire in early December, and asking for donations to help us fly Mindy out from Washington, D.C. to spend the holidays with our family here in Glendale. The day the paper came out, I placed donation cans around the valley. Three days later I received a check from an anonymous donor for the full amount of the plane ticket.
