Individual groups had potlucks and the weekend was topped off with a breakfast and a bang-u- p banquet in the evening. The breakfast was served by one of the local chapters and the banquet was cooked and served by the Smithfield Lions Club. Everyone had a enjoyable time and it is hoped that more will be able to attend next The Balanced Rockers Chapter of the Good Sam R.V. organization held their June meeting at Logan in conjunction with the Utah State Samboree. A caravan of nine rigs left Price, traveling north. Upon arrival at Willard Bay, four more were added to the group. As they entered the I)gan Fairgrounds, two more joined. A total of 391 rigs were gathered at the fairgrounds, representing 30 state chapters and five other states. Everyone enjoyed the good weather and gorgeous scenery, as well as outstanding entertainment. Professor Warren Burton of the music department at Utah State University was among the entertainers. His talent in the use of musical instruments has been featured on Johnny Carsons Tonight show and on s Thats Incredible. A group of young people from Utah State University also entertained the crowd with their fiddles. Curly Clark of Idaho performed by singing and playing his guitar. Something was going on all the time tournaments, seminars, bake sales, tours, etc. Tournaments included horseshoes (which Carbon Countys own Mary Weaver won), golf, checkers and lawn darts. Seminars were offered on tires, extinguishing fires, R.V.s, cooking for two and many other subjects. The local chapter was in charge of a Handcraft Fair. Several beautiful and unusual items were on display. Local members came away with their share of the ribbons again this year. A check was presented to the Helper Club for their report on Saving Home Energy at the state convention s year. Knights of Columbus Auxiliary Helper Women's Club A gala closing party and installation of new officers for 1982-8- 3 was held May 19 at the Elks Club in Price. Etta Diamanti and Elizabeth Huff were in charge of arrangements and decorations. The tables were decorated with peach blossoms and dainty baskets with homemade candy. Louise Peckham gave the prayer and blessing on the food. Myrtle Bryner gave the treasurers report. After enjoying a delicious dinner, the group held their installation of new officers. Jeanette McAlpine was in charge of the impressive installation, presenting each officer with the flower of her office. New officers are: Etta Diamanti, president; Edith Sallas, first vice president; Ann Bonacci, second vice president; Alice ABC-TV- Anderson, secretary; Myrtle Bryner, treasurer; and Louise Peckham, historian. Etta Diamanti reported on attending the state convention held at the Hilton Hotel in Salt Lake City recently. She also presented Jeanette McAlpine with an orchid corsage. The Carbon County Ladies Auxiliary of the Knights of Columbus held their installation dinner at Lupos Supper Club on May 23. Louis Pestotnik, district deputy, installed the following officers for the 1982-8- 3 year: Rose Perrero, president; Mary Pestotnik, first vice president; Julia Warren, second vice president; Mary Spigarelli, secretary; Suzanne Cartwright, treasurer; and Thelma Saccomano, historian. The incoming and outgoing officers were given pink carnation corsages. Past President Mary Delpha was presented with a silver bowl in appreciation for her endeavors. Special guests in attendance were priests from the three parishes; Bob Sorenson, state deputy, and his wife, Alicia; and Toby and his wife, Pat. Trujillio, state deputy-elecThe three councils of the Knights of Columbus held joint installation of officers on June 16. The Ladies Auxiliary arranged and served a buffet luncheon. The Auxiliary will hold their annual picnic on Aug. 1 in the Helper City Park for members and their families.
